My name is Antonio Bañares, founder of Antonio Amberes Jewelry
Born in Madrid and now based in Antwerp, I live and work just moments away from the
world-renowned Diamond District — the historic center of the global diamond trade
My fascination with diamonds began in 2019 when I purchased my first diamond
pendant. What began as a simple moment of admiration soon evolved into a deeper
curiosity. I started studying the stone, its certification, and the remarkable
journey every diamond takes before reaching its final form
Driven by that curiosity, I began traveling across the industry to understand diamonds from their very origin. In Sierra Leone, I studied rough diamonds at the source. Later, in Mumbai and Surat, India, I explored the world of diamond manufacturing and the rapidly growing market of lab-grown diamonds
Throughout this journey, I have attended numerous international jewelry trade events, learning from experienced professionals and gaining a deeper perspective on the global diamond market.
Every step of this path—from the first trip to the creation of the brand—has been built independently, guided by determination, passion, and a long-term vision.
Today, Antonio Amberes was created to bring that journey to life: combining the heritage of Antwerp’s diamond trade with a modern, transparent approach to fine jewelry.
For me, diamonds represent far more than luxury. They symbolize perseverance, ambition, and the reward that follows dedication and hard work.
